I tried this for my Remington 783 but it just was not grouping well at 100yds. I was getting 4-5in groups. I tried other ammo and was getting 1 to 1 1/2in groups. It will still take deer at those grouping at 100yd and less. I would say if you cannot find other ammo for your 783, you can use this but for ranges max 100yd to 150yds.
