RustyCrawdad's Review of Nosler Match Grade 6.5mm Creedmoor 140 Grain Custom Competition Brass Cased Centerfire Rifle Ammunition

Nosler is my local brand. I live in Bend where the factory has been for decades, so its nice to be able to support our boys. But these boxes of “match grade” ammo were abysmal. 0.037” (thirty-seven thousandths of difference in over-all length between the the rounds in one box of ammo. This made me want to check my boxes of other manufacturers ammo. Ammo inc was a little better, and every other manufacturer was waay better consistency. I’m talking even S&B, Fiochi, and it turned out Hornady was the most consistent with 0.001” difference in OAL in one box of 20 rounds. And groupings were predictable with this lack of quality control. Groups of -0.5” to 0.75” moa for five other manufacturers and Nosler grouped at 3+ inches. Yeah. At 100 yards. So at least i have some nosler brass to reload. But wow.
Pros:
  • Good brass
Cons:
  • Quality control/ consistency
Best Used for:
  • Reloading
