Doug's Review of Noveske Short Throw Selector Ambidextrous
I wanted to love this safety, but the Magpul plastic throw levers are just not good. They are well made, but extremely uncomfortable. You cannot really see this in the pictures, because it looks like smooth taper, but these are just cuts to remove material and taper to the top. The edges are too built out and harsh. All of the ridge lines to trim out the design and make it smaller are basically like sandpaper; the cuts are too steep and overall it makes it feel too tall rather than sloped or tapered to the top.
The safety itself has a great 60 degree angle, but is very stiff. This is not necessarily a con, but it took a couple different safety springs to get one that felt "ok" and didn't feel like I was having to apply and overt amount of pressure. After some use, it seemed to break in and be better, but still required more pressure than a standard safety. This, compounded with the fact that the Magpul switches feel like a cheese grader, made me replace this with a Talon.
I think if the Magpul switches were made out of metal and not plastic polymer, they probably would be fine, but they are too harsh and uncomfortable to use all the time without gloves.
