Weak design - ODIN Works O2 Lite Free Float M-LOK Forend

I am a very experienced AR builder.

My fined and I purchased two of the 17.5" hand-guards from Optics Planet for two 6.5 Creedmoor builds.

The barrel nut arrangement for this hand-guard is made of aluminum.

First my friend stripped out some of the holes for the six mounting screws ..... then I stripped one of them on my build.

We both contacted Odin Works, and they gladly replaced the part that we both stripped out!

I contacted Odin Works before I installed the replacement aluminum pieces to establish a torgue specification this time.

I was told 50 inch pounds. I set my torgue wrench to 40 inch pounds. It stripped out one of the screws again.

The screw lengths and the thickness of the aluminum simply are not adequate or durable enough. Especially if you are going to work on the upper, to change things... Aluminum in this roll is NOT a good idea.

Barrel nuts should be made of steel!

From optics planet .... all steel barrel nut design...much easier adjustment. and anti-rotate hand-guard tabs. ... and it is cheaper ...
