Stuby's Review of Olight i5R EOS 350 Lumens LED EDC Flashlight

—uses AA as well as rechargeable so gives you options—supplied clip nicely rounded so if carry tail cap up won’t dig into pants or you—box it came in was very nice like Apple products and box has non-replaceable pull tab so you can tell if someone has opened it before—light weight construction means not sure of ultimate durability but lightness means it fits well on ball cap bill utilizing S curve of supplied clip which means you can also carry it tail cap down—simple tail cap switch, press on momentarily or permanent gives lo light setting, if do either type of press again with 2 seconds you get high light setting… Simple. Con is front glass/lexan? is not well recessed nor crenelated bezel so time will tell if lens gets scratched up, although if tough on things maybe some sort of clear automotive bra over it?? So if you’re looking for an inexpensive flashlight that is small yet bright enough on single duracell AA to keep your immediate 7-15 yds surroundings in check, or to ID someone in your average bedroom or hallway this should work. If you’re a budget ninja who likes light discipline and who doesn’t want to worry about losing a $200 sure fire then this could be for you, or a nice backup to your $200 sure fire. If need brighter then use rechargeable battery and charging cord it comes with
Pros:
  • Lightweight
  • uses AA or rechargeable
  • Inexpensive yet works
  • simple tail cap lo/high
Cons:
  • lens not well protected
  • no crenelated bezel
  • lightweight durability??
Best Used for:
  • Immediate surroundings, general illumination
