Bill's Review of Olight PL3 Valkyrie 1300 Lumens LED Tactical Light
Proprietary batteries. I threw Streamlight batteries in this light to see if that were true. It is. Light is much dimmer, and "high" mode instantly begins stepping down. Light does not have a long term memory, and always comes on Low mode first. This would not bother me too much, but low mode is very dim, definitely the 200 lumens they advertise, or even less. For the weight and Light output, it isn't worth dealing with holster compatibility, or proprietary batteries. Sending this light back. Also, the button is hard to reach with my firing hand index finger. I have large/xl hands.
Pros:
- None, really.
Cons:
- Proprietary batteries. Low mode comes on first, and it is very dim. Holster compatability. Controls hard to reach.
Best Used for:
- paper weight
