FD's Review of OPMOD PRB Professional Range Bag w/ Pullout Bag and Brass Bag

I had been wanting an additional range bag for some time when I received a promo on this one. I have a smaller one that most would consider the "standard" size for a range bag (ability to hold a couple of handguns, ammo, eyes and ears, etc.) but I had outgrown it. This bag is very large and capable of holding multiple handguns, ammunition, eyes and ears, targets, staplers, cleaning equipment, tools, etc. I can even get rifle rests inside of it if I want to (even though those would be a waste of useable space, it illustrates the size of the bag).

Some have noted that the bag is almost too big, as by the time you get a lot of ammunition, handguns, and other gear inside it can become quite heavy. This is true, so I use my smaller range bag to hold ammunition and other relatively heavy tools (stapler, screwdriver set, etc.) and then put all of my handguns and other general range gear (eyes and ears, etc.) inside of this one and usually end up with room to spare. If you just want to use one bag though, and don't mind the weight, this one can handle it without any issues.

The take-out center storage bag is very useful for housing eyes and ears and other general range equipment, as it can be carried separately by it's own carry handle and makes often-used gear very easily and quickly accessible. It functions similar to an open-top tool bag. The "walls" inside of it are modular and can be adjusted to fit whatever you may want to put inside of it.

The interior space of the main bag has multiple padded pockets that can house handguns without putting them in their own bulky case, and the pockets provide plenty of protection from whatever other items may be in the same bag space. The side pockets have lots of smaller interior pockets, and I find them useful for holding gun oil, solvent bottles, etc. upright and secure so you don't have to worry about spillage, etc.

The material the bag is constructed of is very heavy and durable. I have not put it through any sort of torture test, but the thickness and structure of the material is very similar to some higher end bags that I own (not going to name brands, but they have NSN's and can easily be a few hundred dollars each) and those bags have been through quite a bit without any unexpected failures. Either way, this is a lot of bag for the money that Optics Planet charges for it. I would not have been disappointed even if I had paid full price.
