So between me and my friends we all have these when they were on sale. I do not have the AR-9 but did fire one with it. Recoil impulse seems tame and sound is more bass like and seems quieter. Now based on use with 5.56, .308, and 9mm experience they all seem to take that bite out of the sound. Now if you like fireball effect well it can make 9mm seem like a small magnum round and .308 turns into a 2 foot long cone of fire. Not sure if it is over built, but there is a lot of steel on it.
