Falls short - Opti-Logic Insight 1000XL LED Laser Rangefinder

I was so disappointed when I received this rangefinder. It has no magnification so it's nearly impossible to range anything beyond a few hundred yards, not to mention 1000+ yards as it advertises. I couldn't get it to range much beyond 350 yards even though the object was a white pickup truck and trees. No scanning mode, either. Also, the viewfinder isn't very clear or as easy to use as others I've used. It does, however range very quickly at short distances (up to 250yds) and measures feet which is a handy feature. I wanted this for hunting, but it is not at all suited for hunting. Would be great for construction workers measuring large items at close distances, but not for deer at 200 - 300 yards.
Pros: Measures yards, meters and feet, made in the USA
Cons: No magnification (1x power view finder), no scanning mode, clunky range button, very large size, expensive, wouldn't reliably range beyond 350yds
