Michael Leithead's Review of Opticron BGA Waterproof 10x42 Monocular
Very good quality optic! Very affordable! Comes with a lifetime warranty from Opticron if you register on their website or by mail.
Image is very clear and focus adjustment is smooth and not too fast, which allows for very precise adjustments. Ocular lense has adjuster for with or without glasses.
Opticron offers a long-eye relief attachment that turns their binos and monos into a telescope with doubled magnification. Pretty nice option that I look forward to trying. So you have modularity with this optic.
Eye relief is in a sweet spot so you do not have to press your eye right up into ocular lense like you would on cheap optics.
Good weight for carrying on your belt or around your neck plus your arm will not get tired as quickly. Lanyard is included as well as a basic cloth and professional cleaning cloth.
My one grip is ocular lense cap does not stay on, but they are easy to replace so a minor gripe.
I chose a monocular because I have stereoblindness due to amblyopia so using binoculars effectively is difficult for me. Opticron is one of the few manufacturers that offer monoculars and they are one of those that are good quality as well as affordable.
If you want a monocular then this is a very solid option.
