Glen's Review of Osprey 4-16x50mm Black Illuminated Rangefinder Reticle 30mm Tube Tactical Rifle Scope

I bought this scope about 4 years ago at a gun show. I mounted it on my .243 Remington. I had a great deal of trouble getting sighted in, but finally I did. About 3 months ago I decided to check my zero. No where close to being zeroed. It was shooting left, so I adjusted right and it shot farther left. So I adjusted farther left and it shot to the right. So I'm thinking that the turret arrows are reversed.
I checked my mounts,--all were tight. I checked my turrets, a little loose, so I tightened them and that solved my problem. I could put one bullet in another bullet hole with no problem.
Today I checked my zero again, thinking I might go hunting tomorrow. I was 9 minutes to the right. So I corrected it again at 65 yds. and hit my target at 225yds.. Good I thought, but then I noticed about 1/8 minute play on the side turret. So I pulled the turret off and found the adjustment ring under the turret was loose. So I tightened it and re-placed the turret. Now I have to re-zero again!!!
I like the features of the scope and the optics are good, but the quality of mechanical construction seem to be lacking.
I need a scope that I can depend on. One that will stay zeroed indefinitely, not one that I have to re-zero before each hunt. I'm sorry to say that this was poor investment.
Nothing is more frustrating than missing an easy shot because of mechanical failure of your optics.
