Mickey T.'s Review of Osprey Global Weapons Mountable Laser Rangefinder

I’ve seen these for as little as $149.00, but I bought it from Optics Planet for their listed price for their ease of return policy and the way they back everything they sell with any help you need after purchase. Considering the price of ANY competing range finder you can mount to a picatinny rail it’s a steal! It’s accurate from 6yds to 700yds to +\- 1yd. When mounted to the side of my rifle it’s clearly visible and easy to read. The case is rugged and sealed metal. It comes with its own rail mount that’s adjustable for both windage and parallax. It uses a standard CR2 battery. And has its own built in fixed site on top for ranging very small targets. The ONLY downside of it is the wire connecting the power switch/control to the case. It’s ridiculously flimsy. I McGivered my own protection for it from snags myself. And you’ll likely want to do the same. For the price and flawless performance of this product- hands down it’s worth spending a half an hour to do it. It’s otherwise very rugged and designed to last in all weather conditions.
Pros:
  • Ease of use.
  • Unbeatable price.
  • Very rugged all weather construction.
  • Made in the USA.
Cons:
  • The wire connecting the Power/Control pressure switch to the case is ridiculously flimsy and requires some simple McGivering to protect it from snags.
Best Used for:
  • Hunting and plinking targets at unmarked and unfamiliar ranges.
