TCSF's Review of Osprey Green Laser Sight with Quick Release Rail Mount

After about one minute of use, the laser starts fading down to nothing. After being turned off awhile, the laser will shine brightly for another minute, then fades away again. Perhaps something is overheating, perhaps the batteries can't sustain the load. The rail clamping screw is an Allen head but the side wall of the head is ultra thin and looks very weak. I have never seen such a thin walled head on any Allen screw before. The battery compartment door is secured by two microscopic screws that are hard to manipulate and easy to drop and lose. The supplied wrench fit one of these screws well, but the other had an oversize socket allowing the wrench to slip. The tail switch is held by a fixture fastened by two screws. One screw fell out because the threads did not engage anything. Adjusting the laser's windage screw turned on the laser despite the tail switch being in the off position. Both the windage and elevation adjustment screws seemed inconsistent in operation. While one felt consistent resistance when screwing them in, they did not feel connected to anything when screwing them out. MADE IN CHINA.
Pros: Laser is located close to the bore, can mount a light of your choice
Cons: Laser malfunctions, poorly fitting screws
