Ed Delgado's Review of Overwatch Precision TAC Glock Trigger

Shot ~500 with this trigger (on a friend’s G19... more on that later); also installed were the NP3’d OEM connector, and the NP3’d plunge safety (gen 5). The short pull of the flat faced trigger (perfect for shorter fingers and/or those, like me, who choose to run a backstrap) paired with the smooth glide afforded by the NP3 coating, this setup rivals a highly tweaked 1911 trigger pull (nonetheless leaps and bounds over the feel of even a gen 5 stock Glock trigger). Minimal take-up (even with the OEM connector), solid wall, and a crisp break with no detectable “grittyness” or friction... even with hundreds of rounds worth of carbon on the parts; the lubricious nature of the NP3 coating makes it difficult for the carbon to stick and impede functionality (at least during my experience with it... I’ve not used NP3’d parts before). Reliability is there, and cleanup was much easier. I don’t fell the need to reduce the trigger pull weight further, as it already feels as if it were a 3.5 - 4 lbs pull. I prefer this setup over the Apex any day. The NP3 coating has not come off of any of the parts (with over 2500 rounds on that weapon as yet), and the the trigger shoe is solidly built, with no visible wear on the anodizing... it looks good! I personally appreciate the small ledge at the base of the trigger shoe as it helps with consistent indexing. Overall, this is, as yet, and in my opinion, the best trigger setup available... I would like to see Overwatch Precision make a follow-up version with ridges (or even a bit of light knurling) on the trigger shoe face. The only regret I have with the purchase is nothing to do with the product, rather all to do with Optics Planet... I’m 3 weeks into my purchase, and the order is “still processing”! I would understand the delays with COVID, blah blah blah, except that Optics Planet listed the item “In Stock” and “Ready to ship in 1 to 5 days”. My review has been based on a borrowed setup (as described above), and I have received all of the other parts, directly from Overwatch Precision, within 4 business days after my order (on the same day I ordered the trigger from Optics Planet); I should’ve ordered it straight from Overwatch... not worth (at least to me) the overall $10 - $15 I saved by ordering with Optics Planet. As the saying goes, however, “...shame on me.” as this isn’t the first time this similar issue has occurred with Optics Planet. Anyhow, I highly recommend the trigger, and the NP3 setup by Overwatch Precision; you won’t be disappointed... as long as you don’t order it here (at least not if you want it anytime soon).
Pros:
  • Solid build
  • Smooth and seemingly reduced trigger-pull weight
  • NP3 coating is extremely durable yet lubricious.
  • Sets trigger at a shorter pull distance - great for shorter fingers and/or backstrap users.
  • When paired with other NP3d parts it provides a solid wall with a crisp break; no gritty feeling on the pull, and smooth las a 1911.
Cons:
  • No texturing on trigger shoe face - solely a preference, not a con.
