What happened to the original? - Pantheon Arms AR-15 M-LOK Handguard

I really liked the 3 Pantheon Handguards I bought before the change to the original design. I previously bought a 6.5, 8.5 and 11.5 inch Pantheon Handguard and was happy with the quality fit and finish. However, in the last year or two the quality - fit and finish changed for the worst. The new dimensions and look are substandard and the handguards the Pantheon produces now are horrible. Hence, the question “what happened?”
The newer handguards are machined to make them look rounder causing too much of the metal to be taken off and making the handguards too thin. So, the octagonal shape is lost. Furthermore, the new handguards do not fit flush with the upper receiver anymore, having a huge gap between the receiver and handguard when fully tightened. Because of these horrible decisions that Pantheon has made, I will no longer buy their handguards.
