Yes,it lets you see in the dark with the built in IR illuminator but not without. It's not at all like true Night Vision equipment that can amplify ambient light. In fact, in very low light conditions,a cellphone camera can take better images but this performs when attached to a rifle scope and pushed further out using the IR Lamp. It's image quality is 10 times better than the cheap sub $50 spotter night observation cameras.
Pros:
- Makes a day scope useable at night.
Cons:
- Not true Night Vision meaning it doesn't amplify low light. It's completely dependent on an IR light source.
Best Used for:
- Night observation, spotting and target shooting.
