Mike's Review of The Triggered Company Partisan Disruptor AR-15 FRT 3 Position Drop In Forced Reset Rifle Trigger w/ Single Side Safety Selector

I purchased this to use in one of two AR's that I have. The Ruger SR-556 didn't have the correct BCG due to the Ruger piston rifle design. Love this gun but it would not work. They tell you to have a M16 bolt so no issue, just disappointment. I put this in a Windham fiber composite AR15 and it fit and functioned perfectly. I was nervous due to the fiber composite material versus steel in the upper and lower but this trigger ran great and I cleaned the rifle yesterday and no wear or any problem. Being a reloader I wanted to see how my reloads would work and the H335 with a 55 grain bullet worked great. Cleaning it I noticed how little residue was left in the barrel or the bolt.

I have not dealt with drop in triggers and was extremely pleased with this one. I am more familiar with Geissele triggers so instead of needing three hands I was really happy that it just dropped in. The anti-walk pins are very good and tight. The selector works great. My brother and I took to the range we belong to and ran several mags through the gun. The trigger breaks at 5.5 lbs which is close to mil spec, but it doesn't have a clean snap type break. Believe me, this is not noticeable in semi-auto and even less when you hold the trigger from resetting and let it run. You need to make sure you lean into it because even this 5.56 will push you back a bit. The muzzle rise is expected and very manageable even with my lightweight rifle. I wasn't sure if I would need to change out the buffer but Windham took care of that in this 5 lib rifle and put in a good H3 or equivalent, because I had no issues. I took the buffer out but couldn't find any ID to tell me the weight, but it worked great. This thing is an adrenaline pumper and delivers what Partisan says it will. Check out the vids on You Tube like I did and I think you will see this is a great choice.

I didn't buy this for target practice but wanted this trigger for home defense and occasional showing off plinking. I now have a lightweight rifle with a laser, and flashlight attached that can deliver a very fast 3-4 round burst or more if I need it. Optics Planet had my order on the weekend and delivered it the very next week. That is outstanding considering they use USPS. I'm the type who likes to do a little research and when I did Partisan came out on top. I am very pleased I bought it and very pleased with Optics Planet.
Pros:
  • This Partisan FRT does exactly what they said it would. It was easy to install and a lot of fun to shoot.
Cons:
  • You can bur through a lot of ammo with this trigger so be prepared.
Best Used for:
  • Home defense & Fun
