Jean-Flo's Review of Patriot Optics 3 Gunner 1-6x24mm LPVO Rifle Scope, First Focal Plane

This is a good budget option and comes complete & ready to go. The packaging is great and this is optic-mount and flip up caps

Unfortunately it's not a true 1x optic at the lowest setting, more like 1.5x or 1.75x. This makes viewing with both eyes open a lil difficult. This is common on budget LPVO, Maybe I recieved a faulty unit?

The eyebox is pretty tight on this scope. Not sure it's a 3-gun competition ready unit, but our fore-fathers did a lot with much less

I really like the reticle. It is a nice & crisp "Christmas tree" style with good holdover & windage data. Illumination is not daylight bright at the lower magnification settings, but that's good as washout does not occur. It has 11 brightness settings, but only 1 off setting. It would be nice to have an off in between each setting vs dialing all the way around to zero. This is a budget optic, so no big deal

The glass is decent, not great- not bad. Slight abboration at lowest setting, but for this price it's to be expected.

Zoom and focus are smooth and tight. That surprised me, and the threaded throw lever on the magnification dial is a nice feature

The elevation turret is a bit mushy on the tactile adjustments and the locking mechanism isn't very tight. In comparison, the windage turret is nice and works as advertised. Again, maybe I recieved a faulty unit. This leads me to question manufacturer QC

Haven't put many rounds down range, so I cant comment on durability

Ive got cheaper & much more expensive optics than this one. I'd happily pay a bit more for better QC and a true 1x low power setting. If QC and the low power 1x were fixed, this would be a five star home run
Pros:
  • Price, reticle, complete package, lots of features
Cons:
  • Not a true 1x, tight eye box, poor QC
Best Used for:
  • Plinking, cost savings,
