Mounted on beretta 1301 tactical - Patriot Optics Medusa Adjustable Green Laser Sight

I received this today and I’m extremely impressed. Although I just mounted it and haven’t had a chance to shoot with it yet I’m sure it will hold up to recoil. That being said I will definitely update my review when I have a chance to shoot with it. This thing is sturdy. The adjustments are high quality. Everything is high quality a matter of fact. The laser is clean,crisp and easily seen. When I opened it I was aiming holding it in my hand during the day at first. Without looking through sites I got some pretty good distance out of it. 30 yards no problem. Past that I couldn’t find the laser but my wife could lol. I’m definitely chalking that up to holding it in my shakey hand. Attached to the weapon and sited in I’m sure I could get the distance that they claim (100yds day time). Then I took it out at night. It went through two fields behind my house (about 200+yds)and could easily see it. The woods were too thick to get anymore distance but, I’m sure it could. The rail mount is extremely high quality and it tightened around the laser and rail as it should. This thing is great! I’m ordering 2 more and my friend in law enforcement is ordering one for his 1301. Now for the only reasons I dropped 1 star. For one, it doesn’t come with a battery. They say it doesn’t come with a battery in the description but, they have it in the picture so it was a little annoying. I had to go to two different places to find it. Not patriot optics fault but, why give the impression that it comes with one by having in the picture. The second negative and the reason it receives 4 stars is the pressure switch.The switch is actually good quality. The mounting solution is awful. The Velcro that came with it doesn’t stick. So I have no pressure switch for now. With a little ingenuity I’m going to figure this out and have it more sturdy than two pieces of Velcro. I wish it came with a mount for the switch like most tactical flashlights come with so you could mount it on a rail or zip tie it to something even rivet it. Something but, at least that would give you more options. It seems like a fail to me to have such a great product and then chinch out on the pressure switch mount. My conclusion is it’s a great product with one thing that needs to be dialed in. It’s not going to keep me from purchasing it again. It’s a breath of fresh air to get such a high quality product for such an affordable price. Honestly, its making me look into their other products and I don’t know them or work for them. Bottom line, if you’re looking for a good quality laser especially at an affordable price, then this is it. Don’t be afraid of the weight. The 1301 is extremely lightweight and I can still easily hold it in front of me with one arm extended. Not much of a difference than without the laser.
