Completely disappointed - Patriot Optics Shapeshifter Holographic Sight

I was unsure whether or not I should try this optic, but I wanted to try something else besides a red dot for my 10.5" 300 Blk. There were only a few reviews, and they were fairly positive, so I decided to try it.

When I unboxed it, it felt like a good optic. It seemed to have a solid construction, and i was excited to try it out. When I put the battery in, I noticed a pretty bad glare on the glass. I wasnt expecting Japanese glass, but I was expecting something better than a $20 POS Amazon or Wal-Mart optic. Nope! When I turned it on, i was floored. I've seen starbursting before in red dots and other reflex sights, but this was the worst one. I couldn't even make out the reticle until I turned the brightness all the way down. Even then, the reticle appeared as a big blob.

I didn't get to any of the other parts of the optic to see if it was any good or not, and I'm not even going to waste my time checking to see if it holds zero. If I had my guess, probably not, but since I can't make out the reticle, I'm not going to waste my time.

I wouldn't recommend this optic for anything; you're better off throwing the optic at your target. This optic was around $140 and I get it, thats definitely budget compared to others, but if the Sig Romeo 5 can have glass thats 10x better, at $20-$30 cheaper, then they can put better glass in it.
