Legacy Reviewer's Review of Pelican 1720 Protector Long Gun Case
TSA gave me no problems using this case to fly home with my rifle. Highly recommend if you spent money on your AR to protect it.
It holds a compacted AR, plus cleaning kit, a few magazines, optics and I might be able to squeeze in a light. If you need anything more, go for the bigger case.
Foam cutting is tricky. I bought a piece of the cheap arts and crafts green foam to practice on and make sure I liked the arrangement. I recommend doing this to be sure you're happy with the arrangement, only then cutting the black foam. For help doing this, there are some good guides online. Hotwire cutters work, but do it outside or in a very well ventilated room.
Otherwise there's nothing to do.
Pros: Holds standard AR well, plus space for extras.
