Most Helpful Positive Review Over a year of use and going strong. A must have!
I wanted to use this product for over a year before writing a proper review. I read for months and then looked at other products in person and the Pelican was the only choice. It was between the Pelican and the Yeti. The Pelicans solid handles and latches set it apart from the Yeti's rubber latches that won't stand up to years of sunlight and regular use. So after researching prices locally & online, I found the best deal on opticsplanet.com & it was delivered to my front door! Opticsplanet.com is now on my list of sites to check before ordering online, plus they have 10%, 20% off deals plus ...

Great Cooler

by HW, from TX, United States Written on August 30, 2014
After I got this cooler I decided to see what it would do. Friday noon I had placed some ambient temperature (98 Degrees F) drinks i the cooler. About 8 16 oz bottles of water and a dozen 12 ox Gatorades. Put in 10 lbs of ice and realized that it needed another 10 lbs the temperature reached 101 that day Loaded it into the car at 9 AM Saturday and added 6 more 16 oz bottles of water out of the refrigerator. At 1PM added another 10 LBS of ice. The cooler stayed in the car in the sun for the duration and was opened multiple times over the next few days. Monday at 5 PM there was still some ice left. Tuesday 5 PM there was no ice left and the water was 50 degrees, Wednesday at 5 PM the water was 70 degrees. The outdoor temperature was 100 or more every day and the cooler never left the car. In an Igloo cooler of the same capacity I have never made it 12 hours in the summer with ice remaining even when traveling with the AC on.

The cooler appears to be built with quality in mind. The drain does not leak and the latches work smoothly.

Big strong cooler

by Mike W, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on August 14, 2014
When I got the cooler the box was huge! well packed and the cooler has 2 inch walls.
Got it just in time for a 2 night camping trip. Held ice no problem and we must have opened it at least 20 times a day if not a little more. Since it uses such think walls, the inside is smaller than you think. You can still pack enough stuff for a few days. The latches with red buttons are easy to use but seem maybe too easy. handles are sturdy and the tilted drain inside worked fine.

Since I used it only once but had a good experience I would suggest Pelican coolers because they are a bit lower cost than yeti brand.
