I almost returned this item as I couldn't get the on'off switch to work. The manual said to press the on button and there will be a tone in the earpiece that will signal the microphone coming "on." This is not true...and I called for an RMA # to return the item. Got to thinking a bit and thought I'd try another approach. If you press the on button AND HOLD IT FOR SEVERAL SECONDS... the unit turns on. That's how it works, but the supplied instructions don't tell you this specifically.
Pros: very good quality sound compared to other cheaper ear protcetion
Cons: expensive, but will last a long time
