Bluetooth crackles - PELTOR Sport Tactical 500 Electronic Hearing Protection Ear Muffs w/Bluetooth

I haven't used these much yet, just tested them out when they arrived. The bluetooth hooked up easily but there is a crackle sound every time I push "buttons" on the phone. Kind of annoying. Also not particularly confidence inspiring is following the link here to do a review and seeing they are freshly discontinued by the manufacturer.
