ChanchoSlayer's Review of Petzl Swift RL Headlamp
Terrible idea for anything serious like climbing. Petzl’s Reactive Lighting is the worst feature to put on a professional headlamp. It barely saves any battery—maybe a few minutes—yet it constantly changes brightness, which is the last thing you want on a climb when you need consistent, predictable light.
To test it, we set the lamp to high in our restroom and shut the door. In one minute, the brightness changed nineteen times—without anyone touching it or moving in the room.
That feature doesn’t make the headlamp better. It just makes it more expensive. Choose wiser.
