Jake's Review of Pride Fowler Industries RR-Evolution 3-12x42mm with Rapid Ranging Scope

Pride Fowler Industries RR-Evolution-SOPS-Compact 3-12x42mm with Rapid Ranging reticle/ 5.56/7.62x51. FFP, lighted reticle
I had spent weeks looking for glass to put on my newly put together 18” BHW 264 LBC type 1 (6.5 Grendel) upper that would *not* bust my wallet, yet give me the accuracy the upper was capable of!
After weeks of reading I was ready to bust the wallet anyway with another Vortex or Leupold. Then I discovered the Pride Fowler Industries RR-Evolution. After a few more days of reading and research, I got it at a better than advertised price; this left me enough money to add a good mount to the buy.
The Pride Fowler scope itself in brightness, clarity and eye relief is way above what one would expect for the money; on par with or *better* then Vortex or Leupold. The “Rapid Ranging Reticle” is what first got my attention. It is configured in MOA, not ¼ inches, at first it may seem confusing! But after just a small amount of thought and use, it works and works much easier then Mil Dot. There is no math in the use of this reticle, it works even if you are using a round other then 5.56 or 7.62x51! As long as the round used has the same BC as the reticle was setup for. My only questioning thought is; it is put together in China??? Will it hold up to prolonged above normal use? Pride Fowler builds other scopes for the Seals and other Special Force units, but they are much, much higher in price. We will see how the scope holds up?
As for now, at 100 yards, using Hornady factory 6.5 Grendel 123gr SST, doing 3 shot strings, just one large ragged hole. This is off sand bags on my tractor bucket.
Pros:
  • cost, clarity,brightness, hold zero
Cons:
  • None so far.
Best Used for:
  • hunting
