I bought this for my AR. Looks great on my rail. Barely had to adjust the sights. Great out of the box. IR mode works fine. Of course you're not going to see the dot with the naked eye. You'll need a night vision optics to see the dot in IR mode. Sounds like the other guy really doesn't know too much. LOL
