TAC DAD's Review of Primary Arms 1-6x24mm Rifle Scope with 5.56/5.45/.308 Reticle

I have always used a red dot and sometimes with a 3X magnifier. After using this I will never go back.
I did a lot of research and watched all youtube videos I could find. This scope is, in my opinion, the best scope for the price range $269. All other scopes cost way more. The Vortex Strike eagle is very similar to this scope but it costs about $60 more and does not have this awesome reticle.

The reticle is proprietary ACSS (Advanced Combat Sighting System) that is etched on to the glass. No batteries required and works really well in most light conditions. The scope has illumination that works for when its dark or if you are aiming at a target that may be in shadows. Most of the time you will not need the illumination.

It gives you a 1 MOA center dot and a horseshoe ring that is 18" wide at 200 yards.
Comes with bullet drop compensations as well as 5 mph wind holdovers.
The range finder can be used for targeting a man sized target standing up or in the prone position.
The reticle is only accurate when on 6X. With my eyes that is not an issue since I have it on full 6X for anything past 50 yards.

My first time out to the range, after I sighted in the scope I was hitting a 10" circular target at 100 yards every time!! I did not even use the illumination setting.

Shooting targets at 25 yards was easy with the 2X setting. Very fast target acquisition. My eyes are not what they used to be so having the flexibility to change to 2X or 3X is nice.

Get a PEPR mount, I got a Burris quick disconnect and it works great!!

If you are on the fence on which to get, a red dot, or a scope like this. With a little practice you will be just as fast close range and have the flexibility to shoot long distance. Get a scope, I love this one. Keep an eye out for discounts here on optics planet, I got mine with a 12% off coupon.

The bad -
The rear lens cap falls off.
Very sensitive eye relief at 6X (I don't think you will be running around when you have it on 6X)

Is this the best scope on the planet? No, you could buy better ones for $1000 - $3000 or more.
This one has all the features I want (BDC and ranging) at the right price.
