Jim's Review of Primary Arms SLx Micro Red Dot Sight

For anyone looking for a quality micro RDS/Aimpoint micro copy, look no further. The PA Advanced Micro Dot is most likely the best option you could pick. I personally bought mine from Optics Planet, transaction went smooth of course. The sight comes very nicely packaged with all necessary tools and directions for mounting, as well as thread lock which is nice.

I've mounted mine on a mid length AR15 with a Primary Arms 1/3rd mount. I love the push buttons, they are easier to use then the dial and often push buttons are more reliable then dials on sights from what I've been told. I've had other micro sights with dials though as well and I've had no problems with either. The 50k hour battery life is also a huge plus and a major selling point as well.

I've really enjoyed using the sight on my AR. It only needed very minor adjustment to get zeroed at 100 yards, a few clicks at most. Once zeroed, the sight has maintained its zero through several hundred rounds so far. Visually the sight has a perfectly clear picture, I've experienced no glare or any type of distortion so far. The dot itself is typical in comparison to every other red dot I've used, no complaints there.

I absolutely would recommend this sight to anyone looking for a micro RDS. Personally I would buy a Primary Arms sight over a bushnell 100% of the time. There are other budget optics out there you can buy, but in my opinion a lot of those are probably not as tough as these Primary Arms sights. They are fine for recreational use but if you want something that will hold up to more abuse but you can't afford the Aimpoint, definitely go with Primary Arms. I haven't beaten mine up personally but I've heard plenty of guys that put these sights through their paces on ARs and AKs with no problems. Impacts, insane heat from the AK gas block mounts, etc. So all in all you really can't go wrong with one of these sights. You absolutely will not regret getting one of these for whatever firearm you choose to mount it on.

Here are some pictures of this sight on my AR
