Latino Redneck Ninja's Review of Primary Arms SLx 1-6x24mm Gen IV LPVO Rifle Scope, 30mm Tube, Second Focal Plane (SFP)

I have owned several budget LPVO (Burris 1-4 & 1-6, Cabelas, Swampfox, Vortex SE 1-6 & 1-8, Truglo, Sig Sauer, Primary Arms) and although they were good to very good and even great; the biggest downfall was the illumination. I understand that the main purpose for an illuminated reticle is for low light conditions and they were perfect for that, However; we all want to keep the cake and eat it too! We want it to be as good and bright as a red dot in 1x and have the ability to switch to a higher magnification for more accurate shots or whatever you want magnification for, but unless you take out a personal loan for a Vortex Razor or EoTech Vudu or Trijicon, you couldn't get a LPVO with red dot brightness capability. Then Vortex came out with their Razor budget friendly LPVO called the Viper PST....well you still are paying $700 or more. So I came a crossed the PA SLx 1-6x24 Gen 4 SFP Nova scope and what caught my attention was the price. I did some research and watched a video of a guy comparing it to the Vortex Viper PTS over price caca.....and the PA was clearer glass and way brighter, so I decided to give it a shot and let me tell you something.....I was blown away with the brightness, it is NUCLEAR bright! I have personally seen the Vortex razor and this one is almost as bright as the Razor (not as clear, after all; the PA is Budget friendly so you can not expect to get the same glass as the Razor) but you pay a super small fraction for it and have tons of money left for ammo to train with. I wish Opticsplanet would let me post pictures....it is unbelievable; if you want red dot capability at 1x on a LPVO but do not have to rob a bank to get one, get this scope NOW!
Pros:
  • Everything
Cons:
  • Nothing, it is a sub $300 LPVO
Best Used for:
  • Anything you want it for
