Not what i had hoped for - Primos Alpha Dogg Electronic Game Call with Remote

I purchased this unit after reading several good reviews and finding it available at what I thought was a fair price. Upon receiving it, I tried it out only to discover what sounded like some scratching noises that could be heard during periods of silence while making a call. The noises increased in volume as I turned the volume up and were especially noticeable during the lion, bobcat, and crow calls. I was very surprised given the many great reviews I had seen, so I jumped online to see if I could find out what the issue was. It did not take a lot of effort before I found that several people had purchased brand new units and experienced the exact same issue as I had. I could not believe how I never saw this info prior to buying. Rather than exchanging the call for one that hopefully worked properly, I decided to return it and go with a different, and unfortunately more expensive, brand altogether. What a bummer!!! Before returning it, I tried to call Primos directly to get a sense of how prevalent this problem is with the Alpha Dog, but never actually got through to them as I was not willing to wait on hold for approximately 30 minutes to talk with a customer rep. I tried multiple times including what I thought would be times they might not be so busy, but was never able to actually connect with them.
Pros: lots of features
Cons: scratching noises during periods of silence in calls
