DirtyDovi's Review of Pro Mag Ruger Charger Archangel Conversion Package Sights w/o AA556P
Kudos to Pro Mag for offering yet another cool / unique product!
I also have their Archangel stock on one of my Ruger precision 10/22s.
Back to this pistol-chassis: I'm actually using it for a custom build..
It has been modified a bit, and will need more tweaking, but,
when it's finished, it will be housing a PCP [Pre Charged Pneumatic air-pistol]
As with Pro Mag's other composite chassis/stock models, adding carbon fiber to the mix
really helps to add more rigidity and structural integrity. That's a definite plus!
Fit and finish were not flawless or perfect, but, for what I'm doing, it's good enough.
The modular components fit together pretty well, but as others have mentioned,
the front section has a very slight downward angled tilt. Easily corrected by 'shimming'.
The version that I received actually came with a pre-installed rear sling mount.
That was a neat surprise. I guess I might just have to get a single point sling now.. lol
Hardware - Everything needed was included. Unfortunately,
the screws are only intended to bit into the composite material. So go easy when tightening.
I can see that being an immediate issue for some, and a longer-term issue for others..
Especially if/when taking things apart for cleaning/servicing/etc.
Metal thread bosses/inserts would be a great improvement.
Bottom line - It's a pretty killer setup, and I'll definitely recommend!
Big Kudos to Optics Planet too for their great price and fast shipping! Thanks guys!
