Kinger001's Review of Pro-Shot Payne Galway Chamber Brush

I own a Browning Maxus that I started to have problems with jamming after approximately 3 years. I read all of the blogs trying to figure out what the issue could possibly be. I tried everything I read about, replacing the action spring, replacing the carrier spring, run it dry, oil it heavier, nothing worked. I ran into a gunsmith at an outdoor gun demo that explained to me the three things that the Maxus has issues with. A clean and oiled action spring, very clean and lightly oiled bolt grooves, and a very clean chamber. I'm very meticulous about how I clean my shotgun. I never figured that my chamber needed to be cleaner then it was, but the gunsmith recommended I try this style of chamber brush. Like magic, my Maxus hasn't missed a beat since I started cleaning the chamber with this brush. I now keep two of these in my gun cleaning kit at all times, and have recommended it to all of my friends that shoot either a Maxus or Winchester SX3. A lot of sights that sell this brush say it's not for semi automatic shotguns, but don't believe it, it works great.
Pros:
  • Oversized
  • Very dense bristles
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Chamber only not full barrel
Would Recommend: Yes
