D. Babich's Review of Propper ACU Trouser, 50/50 NYCO Ripstop

I own a number of USGI issued ACU army fatigues in UCP camo - these Propper commercial Multicam ACU pants are exactly the same in construction, cut and shape, down to a smallest detail. All the materials used are US-made - Genuine Cordura NYCO 6.5oz Ripstop mil-spec material, standard mil-spec buttons, strong thread with dense stitching etc.

I owned mine for few weeks now and already put them thru 3 washes having them exposed to a weather elements while hiking and trekking. Needless to say they look and feel like brand new. Genuine Cordura NYCO is super-strong, lightweight, quick drying and breathable, prevents fading (colorfast) and is abrasion resistant. Nothing else out there compares and matches NYCO features, not yet at least.

Propper has just released a new-spec ACU uniform pieces in Multicam NYCO Ripstop and I'll most likely buy a pair of pants when they become available at O/Planet too, to have as a backup.

Love Multicam camo too, the new US Army selected OCP Scorpion 2 camo doesn't compare neither in performance nor overall appearance. What a shame.
Pros:
  • Lightweight
  • durable
  • Ripstop
  • breathable
  • Multicam camo

  • Around town worn casually with T-shirt and sneakers
