Hollywood's Review of Pulsar Edge GS 2.7x50mm Night Vision Binoculars
I recently purchased these binoculars and after they arrived began to use them.
I repair and restore and buy and sell night vision devices.
These binoculars without any IR enhancement, are well, you can't say better than
Gen 2 because no one will believe you. So I'll say a solid Gen1+. They are great for astronomical viewing of satellites and rocket boosters, and debris in orbit as well as ground viewing. I went a step further for ground viewing. In addition to the
built in IR illuminator, which alone is fantastic for ground view ing, I used the
picatinny (sorry about the spelling) mount to add an 850 nanometer additional IR
flashlight.
For military purposes these would not be advisable because of the double red dot
that anyone immediately in front of the binoculars would see. So, while not suitable for hunting mujahedin, they are in my opinion as good as gen 2+ for wildlife, casual viewing, and general spotting (remember the two red dots are invisible unless viewed head on. These are the best I've ever owned including some
gen 2 scopes. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
