dannyice's Review of Radian Weapons Glock 19 9mm RAMJET Barrel w/ AFTERBURNER Compensator

I purchased this for my Glock 48. I will say, the muzzle flip is noticeably reduced. The install is easy, I think the product designers at Radian are talented when it comes to making a nice looking item. Which, it should be at its price point.

I took it out to the range and on the first mag had a failure to feed and then a stove piped round after that. I had this every other mag I put through the gun. I thought that it may have been a “break in period” issue and that it would improve with some more lube and shooting some more mags through the gun. I took it out to the range the following day with the sole intention on putting it through its paces. I shot Federal 115, Norma 124, and Winchester 115 in both the standard 10 round Glock mags and the Shield Arms 15 round mags. I had the same recurring issue on all but one of the 15 mags I shot through the gun.

Reliability aside, Glock 48 owners should think about what this does to the pistol. You’re going from a 19 sized slim line carry gun, and now adding length potentially defeating the purpose of its ease of carry. Not to mention, you’ll be needing a different holster. I think this could be an interesting product…if it worked on my pistol and if you were not intending to carry with it. It would make more sense to add this to a 43x than a 48. I hope someone found this helpful to not make a purchase they don’t need.
Pros:
  • Reduces a significant amount of recoil
Cons:
  • causes failure to feed
  • increased stove pipes
