Florida Gunner's Review of Radian Weapons Raptor SD Ambidextrous Charging Handle
A new charging handle is one of the most simple upgrades to complete on the AR platform that makes a noticeable difference in look, feel and operation over factory mil-spec.
The Raptor-SD operates very smoothly and adds ambidextrous operation providing many more ways to charge or clear the weapon when operating in different situations or scenarios.
Another great design benefit with the Raptor-SD is the ported shaft. This was specifically aimed at suppressed shooters to help mitigate the gas blowing towards the shooter's face, however even when not shooting suppressed after many hundreds of rounds it proved to dramatically reduce the amount of gas normally billowing around the mouth eyes and nose compared to the factory mil-spec handle. If that sort of thing doesn't matter to you, or you are not shooting suppressed, then the standard Radian Raptor would be fine and you can save a few dollars on the price difference.
