Decent budget upper asembly - Radical Firearms 16 in. 5.56 M4 Upper Assembly

After already purchasing two other upper 5.56/226 assemblies from Radical Firearms, and happy with the previous quality, fit, finish I had purchased this item from Optics Planet. This was my first purchase through "OP" and I received it in about a week. After removing it from the box, I noticed the black
finish was rougher and dull compared to the other two I had owned. I also attached the new upper to my Spike's Tactical lower receiver which was the same lower the previous "two" Radical Firearms were used with. This upper had more play and daylight can be seen between the mating of the Radical upper and my Spikes lower. Also the new lower did not have any "R" stamping (logo) on the top as the others had and
only a "Midwest" M located on the bottom of the rail. This unit did not have the same level of quality, fit, finish that I previously had experienced. I question where it was made.
I called Optics Planet and they were very helpful and offered to return the item, they did mention to contact the manufacturer and possibly have my questions answered by them.
I called Radical Firearms (BTW, they do not have a phone number listed on their site........really?)
Left a detailed and polite message with customer service 5 days ago.......no return call ever.
I called Spikes Tactical (Their phone number is on the Spikes site) to ask a question regarding this issue. I was immediately transferred to a very polite and knowledgeable tech person who explained how to measure the upper for mil-spec tolerances. I ultimately found out that the upper was still within mil-spec.
After recommending Radical Firearms to countless people at the range and fellow shooting enthusiasts, they have lost me as a customer.
Hats off to Optics Planet and Spikes Tactical for their level of customer service.
