Great concept/construction not tough.

by Wyobohunter, from WY, United States Written on September 15, 2021
This worked great riding around the neighborhood in town… Then I used it for an elk hunt. The thin aluminum tube snapped on my first trip. I was pulling it up a hill into elk camp. The trailer came unhitched from the bike and crashed down the smallish hill. I tightened the hitch just as I always do on a mountain bike tire, and have never had one of those inadvertently open. It was loaded with about 40 lbs of camping/hunting gear and tumbled a few times before coming to rest. One of the rims was badly bent, the other rim mildly bent, the swiveling bar hitch pin was snapped out of place and the handle bar was broken in half at the bike connection point. I limped it back down to the truck and rode the bike up with my gear on a frame pack. I imagine this cart/trailer would be fine for flat country Midwest deer and hog hunting where it won’t be tested like the Rocky Mountain backcountry will find all defects. I’ve seen aluminum mountain bikes take much harder hits with no damage aside from cosmetic. This is not built to those standards. Company will not warranty so I’ll look for a better option.
For those interested, the tubing measured .087” thick with my caliper.
Pros:
  • Neat idea
Cons:
  • Thin weak tubing
Best Used for:
  • Groomed flat roads

R 180 cart

by JW, from WA, United States Written on June 6, 2021
This cart is awesome. Takes up small space when folded but still hauls a nice load when unfolded. Pulled easy behind bicycle or when used by hand.I would recommend this item. The only improvement I would recommend is a stronger folding pin.
Pros:
  • Works great
Cons:
  • Folding pin could be stronger
