Jay Larkin's Review of Ravin Xbow Arrow Carbon W/2in Offset Vanes 400gr .003in
My Ravin Crossbow is awesume. Its Fast, and accurate and super powerful. Now when you add up the cost of the Bow, Its expensive plastic case thats shaped like a casket which gets nicked up and scratches on it very easy when your loading up your equipment to go hunting Then you really get hammered for arrows. We gotta talk! so far I've gone through 14 Of those expensive arrows.
My ravin bow is so powerful, the arrows shoot through Deer with no proplem. I've had 3 that just got distroyed when I got deer with them. The rest are so far buried into the ground that I couldn't find them or they just shoot through the animal and are gone. The owner of the archery store that I have been dealing with for about 30 years now told me that there are other very thick walled 400gr crossbow bolts on the market that I could use.
Since the ravin bolts are so expensive, and then a package of broadheads which average around 40 bucks a pack of three added to the cost of the of ravin 3 lit nocks adds up, Ive been looking into alternative solutions There is now a blue tooth nock company that whose nocks just about fit into any thick walled bolts. These will help you find that expensive arrow set up that you have just launched and may never see again simply by using your smart phone. 400gr carbon fiber bolts are a little more expensive than aluminum bolts because of their strength and durability, but they no way should cost as much as ravin is asking just because they have the name ravin on the side. just remember there are other brands of heavy duty nocks, 400gr carbon fiber bolts and a few lit nock companies on the market. Again don't get me wrong I love my ravin but after spending for the highest priced crossbow on the market, Ravin should cut its owners a little slack on the cost of its bolts when they know that your going to probably distroy or loose one each time that you pull the trigger.
