WinnyDad's Review of Real Avid Armorer's Master Wrench

Magpul was my go to wrench before Real Avid came out with this amazing tool. The issue with magpul's wrench is the closed loop for the castle nut portion. This forced the removal of the stock/brace before removing the castle nut. Problem solved with RA's wrench. The tool is very solid and robust, and is surprisingly heavy but in a good way. The handle is very ergonomic and fits in the hand well. The tool itself is very thick, especially where the castle tool portion is. The castle nut prongs are very solid and large so there's no worry about them breaking. I was able to remove a staked castle nut using the Real Avid vise block and this wrench with very little effort. The wrench is built for maximum leverage so that less force needs to be exerted when using this tool. There are also 3 hammerheads that rest in the handle, but can be removed and placed on the back flat part of the wrench to use as a hammer. My wrench must be a newer model because the hammerheads are round instead of rectangular as with the picture on OP's site and the first generation wrench. The best part is this wrench looks COOL!
Pros:
  • Great handle
  • Solid and robust
  • Well built and heavy
  • Best leverage when using
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • All AR platform
