Get what you pay for - Real Avid Mag-Rack Gun Rack

Im not very impressed with this product. It was cheap, so I guess you get what you pay for. I bought this to stick to the side of my car so I had a place to rest my trap shotgun while I got the rest of my gear out of the truck (and of course could then take off the car while driving). It wasnt sturdy enough for that application. It may work ok inside a gun safe or cabinet. If it came unstuck from the side, the gun wouldnt fall far. The construction of the rest is 2 foam pieces: the magnetic backing and the barrel rest. The two pieces are glued together, but they were already starting to separate when I got it. The one benefit is that the foam rest would be very kind to barrels; I cant imagine a barrel it would scratch. If it had a more sturdy magnetic backing, it would probably work well. Overall though, I would recommend spending a little more and getting a plastic molded magnetic barrel rest. I purchased one after this made by Lockdown which works well on the side of my car and I would trust much more if I was using it inside or outside a gun safe or cabinet.
Pros: Cheap, won't scratch barrels
Cons: Cheaply made, don't think it'll hold up
