One awesome tool - Real Avid Viscera Game Cleaning Tool

I received the Real Avid Viscera 3 in 1 Field Dressing Tool at the perfect time. It arrived on Thursday afternoon. At first glance I was a little suspect as to how well made it truly was. The handle material looked a little cheap but after opening it and actually holding it in my hand, I changed my mind. It has a really good feel in my hand. Well balanced and very sharp right out of the package. The only concern I have with the design of it is the little button for converting the knife to the saw. It worries me that with rough treatment it's not gonna last long. The scabbard is made from good material but who ever is in charge of riveting the strap to hold the knife in, fastened it off center, so when you try to button it, you have to fight with it a bit. Over all though it's very well made. I had just enough time to familiarize myself with it before I went hunting on Friday morning. No luck on Friday but Saturday produced a nice little buck. When I got in the stand, there was a limb in my face that I couldn't just break off with my hand so I decided to try the saw on the knife. It worked great. After I shot the deer, I went to do the field dressing and the only way it would have been easier is if the buck had of had a zipper in his chest. I had no problem getting it started and even though the deer was very fat, the opening was big enough to not be a problem. Once I got home with the deer and got down to skinning him, I had my usual 3 skinning knives handy for the job. Usually because of all the fat on a deer a knife will dull very easily but with this Viscera it seemed just as sharp after I finished as when I started. Except for the few concerns that I do have I highly recommend this tool for anyone that needs a good skinning knife, gut hook and saw.
