Jon's Review of Rearden MFG Direct Thread 1/2-36 Suppressor Adapter
Starting with the barrel threads: the threaded opening is not long enough. My Colt AR9 muzzle threads reach completely through into the can. Also, the cap threads need a “relief cut” before its beginning threads to allow the device to bottom out against the barrel shoulder. I am having to use a spacer between the barrel shoulder and the end of this adapter. The my factory Colt barrel has an unthreaded raised diameter between the end of its threads and the barrel shoulder.
Next: the threaded area that threads into the can’s body is a few threads short of being long enough to cover enough of the can’s internal threads—I can understand this design as the adapter could possibly bottom out prior to being completely installed in some other can.
The problem is that there are to many threads exposed in the interior space of the can. This could lead to the parts becoming stuck as carbon is able to accumulate on the exposed threads.
So, is you buy one of these, you need to verify the measurements of the barrel and the can on which it will be used.
