I use 7x50's for astronomy because their field of view is wide enough to see star clusters and to gain a good "sweep" of the sky. Binoculars are an astronomer's best friend when looking at the big picture!
Pros: Optical clarity, light gathering power, waterproof, shockproof, rugged.
Cons: None
