I bought this for my spotting scope, binoculars, and for shooting off of. I have used it for all 3 and can say this is awesome! I also. Bought the small Backpacker one after I found the quality of this to be second to none. This is super stable for all applications. Best bang for buck in my opinion, looks to be almost exact same as the leupold pro guide... At way cheaper and it has an extra extention. Very light for size, smooth head, nice carry case, and a very nice peice. This is truly the do it all tripod, if you want a lighter one that isn't quite as big for hiking or backcountry hunting, this will work great but the backpacker is half the weight and a little smaller. I didn't have the loose arca plate issue as the other review.

I think this is a good tripod that has potential for greatness. Very lightweight compared to others I've used and loads of features. The tracking is smooth, legs are robust and very adjustable. The ball head is solid and gives you the ability to shoot at pretty much any angle you want. There are so many pros but there is only one con to the tripod I got: lack of stability. Maybe mine is just the random one with this problem but even when everything is locked down (everything else is just on point and solid) the attachment at the head to receive the Arca plate is very loose. Even after I tightened it where it can't go any tighter. Though everything else is rock solid, that plate isn't and I might as well use a tree to shoot from. Maybe the screw is too long because it physically can't turn any more.. Whatever the cause, I'm going to add a shim and see if that works. If not, I'll contact them. I still think that its worth the buy though. If you need a tripod, get it. I just hope yours doesn't have the same problem.
