ArtOfTheCarbine's Review of Revision Eyewear Hellfly Ballistic Sunglasses
These are among my favorite glasses I have ever spent money on. Seven years ago, I purchased a pair of Revision Hellfly glasses, black frame with midnight lenses. I still have those glasses to this day. They proved to be extremely durable, lightweight, and exceeded my expectations of their service. Since I bought my old pair, I wore them every single day, put 'em through heck. The lenses are a little beat up and have a few nicks and more than a few scratches, the rubber pieces on the arms fell off a couple years ago, and just a couple months ago, the rubber nose piece began to deteriorate, and now only the metal piece beneath the rubber nose piece is exposed, and my glasses are rather uncomfortable to wear due to that fact. But I will soon be getting a small eyeglass screwdriver and removing that bendable metal nose piece and wearing my seven year old Hellfly glasses again.
In the mean time, I purchased a brand new pair of Revision Hellfly glasses with Photochromic lenses, and I absolutely love them. I work in a warehouse as a machine operator and a welder, and I'm around high speed particles and hot metal all day, and they stay crystal clear like safety glasses, while protecting my eyes. Then when I walk out into the sunlight, they darken up quickly and serve to protect my eyes and are re-purposed as sunglasses in a near instant. The anatomy of my Hellfly glasses have changed a little since I bought my midnight lens pair seven years ago. The arms are a bit beefier, and the rubber strips seem to be more sturdily installed and less likely to fall off. The overall rigidity and strength of the frame seems to be improved, as well.
From my experience, for the $70 - $100 range, these are by far the most excellent sunglasses you can buy.
