Michael's Review of RISE Armament BLITZ Drop-In Trigger w/Anti Walk Pins

This is the shortest, crispest single stage that I have tried inclusive of the Geissele SSP which has been my favorite speed and precision trigger up to now. In fact the first time I purchased the blitz it was because the SSP was out of stock. So I picked one up just to try as it sounded interesting and I had good luck with other rise armament triggers that I have used in some more cost effective builds completed in the past. This particular project was a high end 10.5" build that the budget went out the door for a long time ago. I was looking for a crisp short single stage trigger and seeing I am a true Geissele fan and use their triggers in 90% of my guns, my plan was for the SSP to serve as my gas pedal for this high speed low drag build. When I purchased the blitz it was strictly to be used as a place holder until the SSP arrived off back order. Well.....it took about 2 weeks and in the process I had started to run the gun to make sure the gas system was tuned to perfection. In the process I began to fall in love with the blitz. Then one day after was just urged to pick up my battle rifle and run the SSP. I was shock and slightly disappointed! How dare this should I say economical trigger hold a candle to my 220.00 piece of trigger magic but it did. I squeezed off another 200 rounds just trying to make sure that what i felt was correct and that I wasn't under a well casted Rise Armament Spell....lol The trigger break was just as crisp, the reset shorted and more audible, and the overall travel of the trigger shorter.
Don't get me wrong I still very much love the SSP as it is a true battle rifle trigger that won't change on you. It does however, have a bit of pretravel that some won't perceive. However for all my trigger snobs, you will feel the slight and I mean very slight pretravel under slow trigger pulls, followed by a little longer than what you hoped for reset. I understand the trigger and know why its there. This trigger is reliable and safe and the slight tolerances are there for that reason. In the blitz, its right on the wall and reset is a half breath away. We will see if the blitz stays true and doesn't over run or double up after high round count. As for the Geissele, you know it will last stay true and never give problems. As for the blitz, there were some who stated issues with reset, I had none. You should make sure that you are installing the trigger properly as the spring base must be properly seated before you install the pins or you could have reset issues. Others have stated that theirs required a little lubrication but I had no issues with the 2 I am running thus far. Needless to say I kept the blitz and the SSP is waiting to be "put in the game coach" but for right now I will et the new kid on the block shine for a little bit longer as the SSP "superstar" lies in wait should any problems arise. Also I am running the SSP with KNS pins with no problems. Some stated that they were not compatible, not the case. Reading is fundamental if not contact your local gunsmith as these are top quality products that will work properly if properly installed.
