Chad's Review of RISE Armament RA-140 Super Sporting Trigger

I ordered this trigger with the anti walk pins needing a simple drop in. What I received was a drop in trigger that went into the rifle easily, but failed to function properly. The trigger assembly had 2 failure methods. 1. The trigger assembly would fire, but not reset. 2. The trigger assembly would fall but become stuck prior to striking the bolt carrier or receiver.

I disassembled the trigger to find what was wrong with it. What i discovered was a bur in both the hammer and the physical trigger contact point better known as the sear. These were either damaged in manufacturing or in handling and were not detected during assembly. The disconnector was also weak, but functioned in the assembly. The two burs in the contact surface resulted in a significant portion of the engagement metal to be polished down for the trigger to function. Eventually I was able to polish out the burs so that the trigger assembly would reliably function. The trigger once corrected functions and is crisp, but with having to polish the majority of the factories work, it is no longer a good representation. The trigger from factory was overly gritty, and as noted above failed to function, had a defect in the sear. For the price (115 roughly) the trigger was a flop. After the work, it functions, but I will not be buying another.
