loomster2000's Review of RISE Armament Rave 140 AR Drop-In Trigger
The Rise Armament RAVE 140 Drop-In Trigger (3.5 lb) is one of those upgrades that immediately changes how your rifle feels the moment you press the trigger.
Right out of the box, installation is straightforward—true drop-in design, no fussing with complicated parts. Once installed, the first thing you notice is how clean and consistent the break is. The advertised 3.5 lb pull feels accurate, with very little creep and a crisp, almost glass-rod break. Reset is short and tactile, making follow-up shots quick and predictable.
Compared to a standard mil-spec trigger, the difference is night and day. You get tighter shot control, better consistency, and less fatigue during extended range sessions. It’s especially noticeable if you’re doing any kind of precision shooting or even just want a smoother experience at the range.
Build quality is solid. The housing is well-machined, and the components feel durable without being overly complicated. It’s not trying to be overly fancy—it just does exactly what it’s supposed to do, and does it well.
If there’s a downside, it’s that it may feel a bit light for those who prefer a heavier pull for duty or defensive use. But for range work, competition, or a general upgrade, it hits a sweet spot between performance and price.
Overall, the RAVE 140 offers excellent value. It delivers a premium trigger feel without the premium price tag, and it’s one of the easiest ways to significantly improve your rifle’s performance.
